Solicitor Apprentice at DWF

Charlie is a Solicitor Apprentice at DWF, progressing towards qualification through a non-traditional route that reflects a deep commitment to broadening access to the legal profession. Their legal career began with a CILEx Paralegal Apprenticeship at the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), where they gained hands-on experience in compliance, enforcement, and investigations. Charlie later built further expertise in regulatory matters as a Senior Paralegal in the Regulatory Department at Kingsley Napley.

 

As a socially mobile individual, Charlie is passionate about their favourite “O” – Opportunity. They believe in remaining open to opportunities and actively creating and sharing them to uplift others. This belief underpins their advocacy for diversity, equity, inclusion (DE&I), and social mobility, with a particular focus on promoting apprenticeships and alternative pathways into law.

 

Charlie contributes to this work as a member of the City of London Law Society Training Committee, the Communications Committee of the City of London Solicitors’ Company, and the BARBRI SQE Advisory Board. They also serve as a Future Board Member of the O Shaped Movement. Charlie regularly shares insights on LinkedIn to inspire and support aspiring legal professionals, aiming to build a career that combines technical excellence with a people-first approach and makes a meaningful contribution to the legal sector.
