Dominique Edell
CILEX Foundation
Dominique Edell is a dynamic and accomplished leader in the charity sector, currently serving as Charity Lead at the CILEX Foundation. She spearheads the design, development, and delivery of innovative programmes that break down financial and social barriers within the legal profession, driving greater diversity and inclusion.
Under Dominique’s leadership, the Foundation has introduced transformative initiatives such as:
Scholarship Schemes offering full funding and tailored personal development opportunities for aspiring legal professionals.
Bursary Programmes providing targeted support to students and practitioners from less advantaged backgrounds, enabling them to progress their careers through CILEX studies.
Dominique also established CILEX’s charitable function, delivering Welfare & Support services including financial education, advice, and grants for individuals whose career progression is hindered by financial pressures. Passionate about fostering a culture of giving back, she actively engages senior legal professionals to volunteer in pro bono roles, strengthening the sector’s commitment to social mobility.
Since 2021, Dominique’s programmes have awarded over £400,000 in scholarships, bursaries, and grants, creating life-changing opportunities and celebrating recipients’ achievements. She believes these investments not only empower individuals but also build structural pathways for talent to thrive in law.
Her career spans Policing, Family Law, and Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) services, bringing a wealth of experience to her current role. Beyond CILEX, Dominique serves as a Trustee at Emmaus Village Carlton, supporting people affected by homelessness, and sits on the grant committee for the Harpur Trust, a leading community grant-maker.
