Jemilla Wallis

Founders Law

Jemilla Wallis (née Olufeko) has a decade's experience advising global media, technology and consumer-facing companies on legal and commercial matters. She currently works at Founders Law (part of the Founders Forum Group) advising hyper-ambitious companies.

Jemilla started her career at international law firm Taylor Wessing advising investors and businesses from start-ups to tech giants on corporate, investments and M&A. Her career is marked by her passion for creativity and innovation through subsequent roles as sole in-house counsel of music tech start-up ROLI, home to the ‘Seaboard’ musical instrument featured in the film ‘La La Land’, as well as at BBC Global News (a commercial arm of the BBC) and global creative and media agency group WPP.

With core values of community, compassion and connection, she is Head of Constellation Connections at the Women in Law Constellation Network - a community set up in 2023 for mid to senior level women in law which now comprises over 150 members. It is a place where women draw inspiration from each other, develop extensive networks, and navigate their career paths. Jemilla is committed to supporting and mentoring people at all levels of their career and empowering them to stand out and embrace new opportunities. When she was BBC Senior Leadership Team Advisor for the Global News Executive Committee (a programme where senior leaders sought input from non-executive members) she gained an understanding of top level strategy of the vast organisation and filtered down learnings to others. During that role, she advocated for diversity and inclusion, leading an all-staff call following the death of George Floyd during the Covid pandemic.

Jemilla is a champion of art, culture and innovation in her local community, having been a Trustee at South East London Community Arts Charity Sydenham Arts since 2021 and leading the Board and line managing the Chief Executive as Chair since 2023.
